The Blacktail Health is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 incorporated in 1985. The all-volunteer board meets monthly to set direction and policy and ensure the fiscal integrity of the organization. Most of the members are patients of the clinic. Board members also participate in committees that meet monthly including Executive committee, Finance committee, Policy and Planning committee, and Performance Improvement committee.
