Blacktail Medical Clinic, Pharmacy, and Dental held an event in Dillon on Feb 6, with new signage and a new logo, and to officially announce its new name — Blacktail Health. This event followed similar events in Butte and Anaconda on February 5. Southwest Montana Community Health Center has been providing healthcare to Butte, Anaconda, and Dillon. Services in Dillon operated under the name Blacktail Medical Clinic, Pharmacy, and Dental.
“For 40 years, we have been providing outstanding healthcare to Butte, Anaconda, and Dillon,” said CEO Tammy Cox. “We decided to change our name to something all three communities can share, and Blacktail Health reflects our commitment to accessible, comprehensive care for everyone.”
Blacktail Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) known for quality, comprehensive care, offering medical, care management, behavioral health, and clinical and retail pharmacy services. In addition, they provide mobile health services and school-based care, bringing healthcare directly to where it is needed most.
“We want to assure people that we are still the same independent nonprofit community health center known for exceptional wraparound care, offering a ‘one-stop’ experience for all your healthcare needs,” said Cox. “The only thing that’s changing is our name.”
Blacktail Health is a comprehensive healthcare provider serving insured patients, uninsured patients, and individuals with limited coverage. They also offer services on a sliding fee scale for those who qualify, making healthcare accessible and affordable. Each year, Blacktail Health cares for nearly 13,000 patients.
“We want to make it clear that we serve everyone,” said Cox. “In addition to providing high-quality care, we also offer convenience. You can see your therapist, clinical pharmacist,, and primary care doctor without calling multiple providers or receiving multiple bills. Patients with insurance help us generate revenue to continue providing care to those without insurance.”
Blacktail Health is more than a healthcare provider; it is a trusted community partner, working closely with local schools, hospitals, employers, and government agencies to address barriers to care. They deliver patient-centered services that meet a wide range of health needs. Every team member is committed to treating patients with dignity, respect, and compassion.
