Janelle Schmit, SWLC

Janelle is a Social Work License Candidate at Blacktail Health in Butte, Montana. She grew up in Twin Bridges and earned her bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Montana. After teaching high school English for nearly a decade, she completed her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Montana.
Janelle has experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as providing behavioral health and care management services within integrated healthcare settings. She enjoys working with both teens and adults and values building authentic, collaborative relationships with her patients. Overall, she strives to create an environment where patients feel empowered and supported.
Outside the clinic, Janelle enjoys attending live music events, staying active, and spending time outdoors. She values adventure, connection, and lifelong learning, and brings these same principles into her work with patients.
