Blacktail Health is pleased to welcome Ellie Wilkinson, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, as a new Family Nurse Practitioner, bringing advanced clinical training and a deep-rooted connection to rural Montana.
Raised in Wise River, Wilkinson understands the importance of accessible, high-quality healthcare in small communities. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Montana Tech in 2019 and went on to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice – Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Montana State University, graduating in May 2025.
As an AHEC/ANEW Scholar, Wilkinson received specialized training focused on delivering care in rural and underserved areas. This experience has helped shape her approach to healthcare, equipping her to meet the diverse needs of patients across all stages of life.
Wilkinson’s clinical background includes experience in both acute care and outpatient surgical settings, where she developed strong critical thinking skills and a well-rounded medical foundation. She brings that experience to Blacktail Health with a commitment to patient-centered care, emphasizing collaboration, education, and prevention.
She is particularly passionate about helping patients take an active role in their health by providing the tools and knowledge needed to make informed decisions. Her approach focuses on preventive care and long-term wellness, ensuring patients feel supported and empowered throughout their healthcare journey.
Outside of her work at Blacktail Health, Wilkinson enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and dogs. Her hobbies include camping, fly fishing, hunting, traveling, and baking sourdough bread—activities that reflect her strong connection to the Montana lifestyle and community.
With her combination of local roots, advanced education, and dedication to compassionate care, Wilkinson is a valuable addition to the Blacktail Health team and the communities it serves.
