Blacktail Health, at 445 Centennial Ave., has reintroduced a pediatric entrance, check-in, and waiting area designed specifically for kids, teens, and their families.

The new entrance will be on the south side of the building, directly off Centennial Avenue, and will feature a friendly sign with the new mascot, Scout.

“We wanted to create a brighter, more comfortable, and child-friendly area for kids and their families to check in,” said Tammy Cox, executive director of Blacktail Health. “The separate space is intended to meet the distinct developmental, sensory, and emotional needs of children compared with adults.”

Cox said the change returns to pre-COVID procedures, when the facility had a pediatric clinic with a separate entrance for medical and behavioral health appointments.

According to a news release, patients 18 and older will continue to use the east-facing main entrance, while dental patients will continue to use the separate dental clinic entrance on the north side of the building.

“Blacktail Health is committed to continuing to evolve with the needs of our patients,” said Cox. “This is one small step we can take to make going to the doctor or therapist a little easier for families.”
